The Wyeth follows the much-loved Y-back form: a single bent crest rail that becomes the arms, a Y-shaped splat for lumbar support, and a seat hand-woven in paper cord. It is light to lift, comfortable without padding, and photographs beautifully, which is why it turns up in so many Nordic and Japanese-inspired dining rooms.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame with mortise-and-tenon joints at the seat rails and a bent crest rail joined to the rear posts. The paper-cord seat is woven by hand over the seat rails; a properly tensioned cord seat flexes slightly and recovers.
A plain-numbers note on cord seats. Paper cord is durable but wears first at the front seat rail, where legs rub. In high-turnover rooms we recommend a tighter weave, a darker cord color, or a removable seat pad to extend its life. We will tell you honestly whether it suits your service style.
Where it works. Nordic, Japanese and farm-to-table restaurants, hotel dining, wine bars and private dining rooms.
Options. Natural, soap-look, walnut or black finish; natural or black cord; optional seat pad. Arm height is shown on the drawing so you can check it against your table apron.
